It can be easy to be overwhelmed by all the choices with protein powders, as well as deciding how much of your diet should utilize them - please see my food for thought and tips on this okay?
Keeping it Simple: Pick Just 1 for All Recipes
If you want to keep it simple and just use 1 type of protein powder that will work for ALL the various recipes in the P3tolife plan I'd use either the:
1. Julian Bakery Grass-Fed Beef Protein in Vanilla Nut, or the
2. Julian Bakery WHEY protein in Vanilla (do remember this is dairy, just FYI, but it's made with milk from grassfed cows).
If you pick one of either of these 2 protein powders, that will cover all your bases and will work in any of the P3tolife recipes. Egg-white protein powder work great in some of the recipes (like smoothies and chia puddings), but do NOT work in some of them (like baked goods), so it's not a good All-Around choice. A vegan protein powder may be fine as well, but I have not tested all the recipes with such at this time.
Not A Main Part of Diet
I wouldn't spend time thinking about the protein powders honestly- just find one or two to have in your back pocket. Even though the doc you can download below has a list of all sorts of quality brands to look over should you like to. Let me tell ya sumpin'.
I have gone through periods where I utilized protein powders on a more daily basis as part or all of one meal, and periods where I didn't use them at all.
HONESTLY?
I feel like my weight is easier to maintain when I don't use protein powders and eat real food instead.
I can't be sure why to be honest, but I just have noticed this pattern, that's it seems to be more ideal to get our protein from real food ingredients in their more whole form, and save smoothies for.....P3 dessert smoothies of course! ;)-
That is why you will see me utilize the protein powder here and there in a few recipes, like chia puddings or a couple of the mug muffin recipes, but they are not a focus in the plan at all- just a few recipes so you have a way to utilize them when rushed and/or needing extra protein quickly.
